Recap: Susquehanna River Bridge Meeting

By - August 14, 2014

The latest meeting in the fight for bicycle-pedestrian access across the Susquehanna River between Havre de Grace and Perryville was much more of the same.  The timeline is slow, with funding for planning the bridge expiring in 2017 and no funding yet secured for construction.  Still, it was great meeting some enthusiastic locals who were adamant that bicycles and pedestrians need to be able to cross the Susquehanna! The coalition of bike-ped organizations is growing and is now 40,000,000 strong!

This year the Week-A-Year Tour of the East Coast Greenway is traveling from Philadelphia to Fredericksburg, Virginia from October 4th to the 11th.  Stay tuned for how they are going to cross the river.

If you have not already, please sign the Change.org petition demanding that the projects accommodates bicyclists and walkers.

Do you live in the area?  Do you visit the area?  Do you want to visit the area?  Do you really like seeing bike-ped accommodation?  Please comment on the project here.
