Rockburn Skills Park: Trail Build

Date: Saturday, September 27
Time: 8:45am - 12:00pm

From Melanie Nystrom:

This Saturday, September 27th, we are getting together at Rockburn Branch Park to reroute the trail that leads to the new turnpike installed this past July by Howard County Recs and Parks for the Patapsco Epic in the power line area that leads to Landing Road, which takes us into Patapsco Valley State Park.

We have laid out a new, more sustainable trail that measures almost 600 feet. The approach to the turnpike is so fun and better suited for the area. Recs and Parks has cut the grass low in the flagged area. McClouds, hoes and shovels will be the tools of choice.

Please helps us complete this project. If we have a good turn out it will not take too long. We will be bench cutting new trail through grass. There are no tree roots or large rocks that we have seen. It really should be straight forward.

Let’s meet at the cul-de-sac in Rockburn on the Landing Road side at 8:45am, ready to hike over and start digging at 9am. Bring your tools, gloves and water.

Please share this information to anyone you think I may have missed.

Donuts, coffee and hot chocolate will be on site!

The weather should be awesome!
