Memorial Ride and Ghost Bike Placement for John and Lynne

Date: Sunday, November 22
Time: 11:00am - 2:00pm

A 12 mile (round trip) Memorial Ride to place the ghost bike for John Fauerby and Lynne Rosenbusch will begin at Beach E.S. in Chesapeake Beach at 11:00AM on Sunday Nov. 22. Riders should be at the school and ready to roll at 11AM. Those who prefer a longer ride may opt to start earlier from other locations such as Southern HS or Chesapeake Market and allow time to arrive at Beach ES in time to join the Memorial Ride start at 11AM. The Ghost Bike installation will take place on Tobacco Rd at approximately 11:45AM. After a brief ceremony, the Memorial Ride will return to Beach ES.

Thanks to Larry Black of Mt. Airy Bicycles for donating and preparing the ghost bike.

Please sign up by Friday, 11/20 if you are attending. This will be a police supported ride and we need to provide an attendance estimate in advance.

Parking may be limited at Beach E.S. so riders are encouraged to carpool and/or park at an alternate location like those mentioned and ride to Beach E.S.

Please note: this is not a Potomac Pedalers specific event. John and Lynne were involved in many organizations and all are working together to bring these remembrance events together quickly.Thank you especially to the D.C. Randonneurs, a group John and Lynne rode with most frequently. Thank you also to the Frederick Pedalers, the Montgomery County Bicycle Action Group (MCBAG), Bike MD, Oxon Hill Bike Club, Baltimore Bike Club, and many others. It seems John and Lynne were active in all the local bike organizations and we thank all of them for getting the word out and aplogize for any inadvertent omission made in haste. Please let us know and we are happy to include your group name.
