Teaching Adults Road Skills

By - May 12, 2016

Are you an adult who already knows how to ride but want to learn the road skills to make you safer on the road? Do you want to become a League Certified Instructor and need the pre-requisite class? Bike Maryland is holding two free, one-day workshops that will give you the road-ready skills you need!

Learn the skills and technique to bike confidently in traffic! This free one day course will prepare you to ride safety on roads and trails.

We will cover:

  • Rules of the Road
  • Lane Positioning
  • Traffic Lights and Patterns
  • Dodging Obstacles
  • Maryland Bike Law

This class includes on and off bike components. Be sure to bring a bike that you are comfortable riding.

This class will not teach you how to ride a bike. It is designed for people who already have at least basic bike riding knowledge.

You are responsible for your own lunch. There will be a lunch break and you will have time to ride to a nearby shopping center that has many choices.

Participants should be 16+.

May 28th: Rockville – The Universities of Maryland at Shady Grove are hosting our first class.

June 4th: Columbia – The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab is hosting our second class.

The next area League Certified Instructor training will be July 15-17 at Hood College in Frederick.
